The first step was to come up with a welcoming and warm feel in the copy for the homepage while getting the reader excited about visiting the restaurant or ordering online. We also wanted to capture their story on a separate page and share it with their audience.
Next, we worked to find the right images to match the mood of the restaurant before incorporating them into our mood board. We only had a low-resolution version of the logo as an asset to work with, so we converted it into a vector image that works on higher resolutions. We looked for fonts that complimented the logo and ensured that they were readable, especially by older patrons of the restaurant.
We were given a PDF menu to incorporate into the website. To make the menu easy to maintain, we leveraged Webflow's content management system with different categories. Having a quick preview of the menu on the homepage was another decision we made to improve the conversion rate. Showcasing the latest reviews from Yelp also added to the credibility of the restaurant.
Locals in the Burien area were consistently searching for an Italian restaurant near them. We boosted their local SEO, ensured that there was good on-page SEO with meta-tag data, and made other technical optimizations. We set up Google Analytics and Hotjar to track conversions and monitor user interactions to the website over time.
